my son performed in his dance / acting recital yesterday
needless to say.. i was so filled with joy.. it was unbearable
he lives creatively without even knowing how creative he is
nothing better than that!

my children inspire me to want to do great things

sometimes i wish there were more hours in the day

i am a reflection of my mom and dad
my mom was there for us.. everyday.. always
my dad was working hard for us.. everyday
my mom could be a martyr when she was pissed
my dad yelled
my mom hugged us and healed us
my dad coached our teams
they BOTH LOVED US beyond their capacities i’m sure
and they still do
i am all those parts and pieces of my parents
they taught me everything.. good and bad
and i’m proud of everyone of those qualities
i see many of them in my kids too
my dad told me he was proud of me the other day
i responded with “i’m 40 dad.. and you’re still there for me helping me”
he responded “i don’t care, i’m still so proud of you”
i’m 40.. and this still means the world to me
thanks mom and dad for reflecting so much good in me
and believing in me.. and never failing me

i was witness to a graduation celebration that moved me to tears today
a righteous ceremony that made me feel.. deeply
it would be impossible not to be inspired by the students i saw starting the next part of their journey
and impossible to not want to honor them.. by being the best i can be
they lead by example

sometimes the finished product of my paints is actually a photograph
i have a deep love for portrait photography
i have a deep love for doodling
and when a goddess shows up on paper.. i feel like she has a soul
and i photograph the images the way i would a person
